Haryana Woman Doctor Detained: Investigators tracing a suspected “white-collar” terror network operating across Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi, and Haryana have detained a woman doctor from Haryana. The development marks a major escalation in a multi-agency probe linked to the recent Red Fort blast case, which killed 13 people earlier this month.
Doctor From Haryana Held in Anantnag
Counter-intelligence teams of the Jammu and Kashmir Police raided a rented accommodation in the Malaknag area of Anantnag and detained Dr Priyanka Sharma, a resident of Rohtak, Haryana. She had been posted at GMC Anantnag.
Officials said a mobile phone and SIM card recovered from the location have been sent for forensic analysis.
Call Records Lead Police to Doctor’s Address
The doctor’s name reportedly surfaced during the interrogation of Adeel, a former GMC Anantnag employee who was arrested earlier. Call-detail records indicated possible links to individuals suspected of providing logistical or financial support to the module.
A police team from Haryana is expected to reach Anantnag for further background verification.
Nationwide Sweep as Probe Widens
The investigation has triggered checks across Uttar Pradesh, where nearly 200 Kashmiri-origin medical students and doctors are under surveillance. The Anti-Terrorism Squad has reached out to institutions in Kanpur, Lucknow, Meerut, Saharanpur, and other cities for verification.
Parallel Investigation Into Red Fort Blast
Delhi Police, along with central agencies, has intensified the probe into the Red Fort explosion. On Friday, three men—including two doctors from Haryana’s Al-Falah University—were detained during coordinated raids in Dhauj, Nuh, and nearby areas.
The university is now under legal scrutiny, with two FIRs registered for cheating and forgery following reports of irregularities by the UGC and NAAC.
Links to Main Suspects and Explosive Procurement
Investigators believe the detained doctors were in touch with Dr Muzammil Ganaie, already arrested in the “white-collar” module case. One of them was reportedly in Delhi for an AIIMS interview on the day of the blast.
Another suspect, Dinesh alias Dabbu, has been held for illegally selling fertiliser. Officials suspect he may have supplied NPK fertiliser, allegedly bought using part of the ₹26 lakh collected by the module to procure explosive materials.
Widespread Raids and Verification Drives
Police have questioned a tea vendor in Wazirpur Industrial Area, where accused driver Umar Nabi halted briefly before the blast. CCTV footage and Sunehri Masjid parking logs are now being thoroughly examined.
In Faridabad, police have checked:
- 140 mosques
- 1,700 tenants
- 40 fertiliser and seed shops
- 200 guesthouses
- 500+ residents from Jammu and Kashmir
The initial UAPA case registered by Delhi Police has been transferred to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is now leading the investigation into the wider terror conspiracy.
