Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus: Samsung is gearing up to launch its next flagship smartphone lineup, the Galaxy S26 series, and early reports suggest a surprising upgrade for the Galaxy S26 Plus. The Plus variant may borrow a key feature from the top-end Galaxy S26 Ultra, potentially narrowing the gap between the two models for the first time.
Galaxy S26 Plus May Match Ultra’s Display Size
According to recent leaks, Samsung could increase the display size of the Galaxy S26 Plus from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches, putting it on par with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Traditionally, Samsung has reserved its largest display exclusively for the Ultra model, making this a notable shift in strategy.
Both the Galaxy S26 Plus and Ultra are expected to feature QHD+ panels with a 120Hz refresh rate, though it remains unclear whether the exact same display technology will be used across both devices. If confirmed, this change could make the Plus variant far more appealing to users who want a large screen without paying Ultra-level prices.
Interestingly, earlier rumours suggested Samsung might replace the Plus model with a slimmer Galaxy S26 Edge, but the company reportedly dropped those plans and decided to continue with the Plus lineup.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Series: What to Expect
The Galaxy S26 lineup is tipped to receive noticeable design updates, including a unified camera module instead of separate camera cutouts. The Galaxy S26 Ultra may also feature slightly rounded corners, improving ergonomics.
On the performance front, the series is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset in select regions, while other markets may receive Samsung’s Exynos 2600 processor.
Camera upgrades could also be on the cards. While earlier reports claimed the S26 and S26 Plus would retain the older 10MP 3x telephoto lens, newer leaks suggest a 12MP 3x telephoto sensor, finally updating a component that has remained unchanged for several generations.
Battery, Charging and Connectivity
Battery capacities are expected to remain similar to the previous generation:
- Galaxy S26: 4,300mAh
- Galaxy S26 Plus: 4,900mAh
- Galaxy S26 Ultra: 5,000mAh
The Galaxy S26 series is also rumoured to support Qi2 wireless charging, making it compatible with Apple’s MagSafe accessories.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Launch Date and Expected Price
Reports suggest Samsung could unveil the Galaxy S26 series on February 25, 2026, at a launch event in San Francisco, USA. Pricing details are still unclear, but Samsung is expected to keep prices largely unchanged from the Galaxy S25 lineup.
For reference, the Galaxy S25 series launched in India at:
- Galaxy S25: ₹80,999
- Galaxy S25 Plus: ₹99,999
- Galaxy S25 Ultra: ₹1,29,999
If Samsung delivers these upgrades without increasing prices, the Galaxy S26 Plus could emerge as one of the most compelling flagship options of 2026.
