Baaghi 4 Movie Review

Baaghi 4 Movie Review: the latest installment in the popular Baaghi franchise, has finally hit the big screens after a gap of nearly five years. Known for its high-octane action and Tiger Shroff’s daredevil stunts, the series had previously cemented his status as a Bollywood action star. While Baaghi (2016) and Baaghi 2 (2018) were commercial hits, Baaghi 3 (2020), which released during the pandemic, failed to live up to expectations. The big question: Does Baaghi 4 bring back the lost glory of the franchise?

Baaghi 4 Storyline

The film revolves around Ronnie (Tiger Shroff), a defense officer who slips into a coma after a tragic accident. After regaining consciousness seven months later, he remembers losing his girlfriend Alisha (Harnaaz Sandhu) in the incident. However, both doctors and even his own brother deny that Alisha ever existed in his life.

Haunted by confusion, Ronnie is caught between reality and hallucination. He then meets Olivia (Sonam Bajwa), a dancer who tries to bring him emotional comfort. But Ronnie remains obsessed with finding Alisha, leading to a central mystery: Was Alisha ever real, or just a figment of Ronnie’s imagination?

Screenplay and Direction

Unlike the earlier three films, which were adaptations of South Indian movies, Baaghi 4 boasts an original story penned by producer Sajid Nadiadwala himself. Unfortunately, the execution lacks depth. The screenplay is slow and often deviates from its core plot.

The first half focuses on Ronnie and Alisha’s emotional arc, but the second half suddenly introduces a backstory involving Sanjay Dutt’s character Chako, which feels abrupt and poorly integrated. This uneven pacing makes it hard for viewers to stay emotionally connected.

Action and Music

While the Baaghi franchise is known for adrenaline-pumping action, Baaghi 4 delivers repetitive and uninspired fight sequences. Masked villains, axe fights, and high jumps—once thrilling—now feel overused. There’s a clear lack of innovation in the action choreography.

Baaghi 4 2

As for the music, the songs don’t make much of an impact. The track “Yeh Mera Husn” featuring Harnaaz reminds audiences of Pathaan’s “Besharam Rang” but fails to create the same magic. The background score is average and doesn’t help elevate the scenes.

Performances

  • Tiger Shroff impresses with his fitness and action, but his acting once again falls flat.
  • Harnaaz Sandhu, making her Bollywood debut, looks stunning but needs improvement in emotional scenes.
  • Sonam Bajwa delivers a decent performance and brings some freshness to the screen.
  • Sanjay Dutt, despite his screen presence, is underutilized with a weakly written character.
  • Shreyas Talpade and the supporting cast give average performances, with no standout moments.

Weaknesses of Baaghi 4

  • Poorly written script and screenplay.
  • Dragged storyline with unnecessary subplots.
  • Lack of originality in action sequences and music.
  • Characters, especially the antagonist, feel half-baked and forgettable.
  • Fails to build emotional engagement with the audience.

Final Verdict: Should You Watch Baaghi 4?

Baaghi 4 fails to live up to the legacy of its predecessors. While Tiger Shroff continues to impress with his physical prowess, action alone is no longer enough to carry an entire film. With a weak script, average music, and lackluster direction, the film feels more like a rehash of older hits than a fresh cinematic experience.

Baaghi 4 1

If you’re a die-hard fan of Tiger Shroff, you might enjoy it for the stunts. Otherwise, Baaghi 4 is likely to disappoint with its lack of substance and innovation.
