Kawasaki Z650 S to Launch Soon in India

Kawasaki Z650 S to Launch Soon in India: Kawasaki, one of the most renowned names in the world of motorcycles, has recently unveiled its all-new Z650 S (2026) model — a refreshed addition to its mid-weight naked bike lineup. While the official launch date for India hasn’t been confirmed yet, the bike has already gone on sale in the UK, starting at £7,199 (approx. ₹8.42 lakh). Here’s everything that makes this new Kawasaki Z650 S worth the hype.

Bold and Aggressive New Design

The Kawasaki Z650 S sports a sharper, more muscular design than its predecessor. Drawing inspiration from the larger Kawasaki Z900, it now features a triple-lamp LED headlight setup that gives the bike a striking front profile. The riding position has also been refined for improved ergonomics and comfort.

The handlebar is now 30 mm wider, and the footpegs have been repositioned to enhance rider comfort and control. Additionally, the pillion seat has been widened by 20 mm and comes with 10 mm extra padding, ensuring a smoother ride for the passenger.

Advanced Technology & Smart Features

Kawasaki has equipped the new Z650 S with a 4.3-inch full-color TFT display featuring smartphone connectivity. Riders can pair their phones via Bluetooth to access call and SMS alerts, as well as ride data monitoring through the Kawasaki Rideology app.

In terms of rider aids, the bike gets Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), an assist & slipper clutch, and other advanced electronic features that enhance both safety and riding pleasure.

Powerful and Reliable Engine

Under the hood, the Z650 S continues to use the proven 649cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine from the previous Z650 model. It delivers around 68 hp of power and 64 Nm of torque, ensuring a balance between performance and everyday usability.

Braking duties are handled by 300 mm twin front discs and a 220 mm rear disc, now paired with a new Continental ABS unit for enhanced safety. The lightweight and compact chassis is designed to offer excellent maneuverability, making it ideal for both city rides and long tours.

Expected Price and India Launch

Although Kawasaki hasn’t yet revealed the India launch date, the UK pricing suggests the Z650 S could debut in India around the ₹8–9 lakh range (ex-showroom). If launched at this price, it will compete fiercely in the mid-weight naked bike segment, taking on rivals like the Yamaha MT-07, Triumph Trident 660, and Honda CB650R.

Final Thoughts

With its refreshed design, advanced electronics, and proven engine, the Kawasaki Z650 S is set to bring a strong blend of style, performance, and technology to Indian riders. Once launched, it could easily become one of the most desirable bikes in the mid-weight category.
