After Bihar, It’s Time to End ‘Jungle Raj’ in Bengal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal, asserting that the people of the state are eager to bring the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to power to end what he described as “jungle raj” under the Mamata Banerjee government.
Addressing a public gathering virtually from Kolkata Airport, PM Modi said that just as Bihar rejected alleged misrule and voted decisively for development, West Bengal would soon follow the same path.
“Today the country wants rapid development. Bihar has once again given the NDA a massive mandate for development,” the Prime Minister said. “Bihar has rejected jungle raj with one strong voice. Now, we have to get rid of the ‘maha jungle raj’ in West Bengal as well.”
PM’s Rally Goes Virtual Due to Bad Weather
The Prime Minister was initially scheduled to address a public rally at Taherpur in Nadia district, but adverse weather conditions forced a last-minute change. His helicopter was unable to land and returned to Kolkata Airport after hovering briefly over the area.
From the airport, PM Modi addressed party supporters and the public through a virtual rally, reiterating his message against the state government and calling for political change in Bengal.
Bihar Verdict a Signal for Bengal, Says PM
During his speech, PM Modi repeatedly referenced the NDA’s recent landslide victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, claiming it reflected public rejection of misgovernance and a desire for development-focused leadership.
“Even after 20 years, the people of Bihar have given the BJP-NDA more seats than before. Bihar has paved the way for the BJP’s victory in Bengal,” he said.
The Prime Minister also recalled his address to BJP workers at the party’s Delhi headquarters on November 14, where he had for the first time drawn a direct comparison between Bihar and West Bengal’s political situations.
‘BJP Will Uproot Jungle Raj in Bengal’
Using symbolic imagery, PM Modi highlighted the cultural and geographical link between the two states.
“The Ganga flows through Bihar and reaches Bengal. Bihar has shown the way, and together with the people of Bengal, the BJP will uproot jungle raj from West Bengal as well,” he said, drawing loud applause from party workers.
The remarks come as the BJP intensifies its political push in West Bengal, positioning the Bihar election result as a blueprint for its strategy in the eastern state.
