Johar also highlights the film’s genre-blending strength. “It’s patriotic, it’s a political thriller, it’s action and drama—all of it merges seamlessly. When that balance clicks, audiences respond in a big way,” he adds.

“He’s one of the strongest forces in Indian cinema,” Johar says. “Every actor goes through cycles. This film places him on a very high pedestal and gives him solid footing for the future.”
Notably, Singh’s performance is defined by restraint as much as presence. “He surrendered completely to the director’s vision and allowed actors like Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and Rakesh Bedi to shine. That’s something only a secure actor can do,” Johar notes.

Johar, however, urges balance. “As a fan, I’d say yes, why not? But as a trade analyst, many factors matter—release timing, competition, public sentiment. Let’s first celebrate what Dhurandhar is achieving right now.”
