DX Electric Scooter: In a bold move that underscores its growing ambition in India’s electric vehicle (EV) market, Kinetic Green Energy and Power Solutions has set an ambitious sales target of 40,000 units for its DX electric scooter over the next 12 months. In an exclusive interview, Ajinkya Firodia, Managing Director of Kinetic Green, shared key insights into the company’s strategy, product innovation, and the broader EV market in India.

Aiming High in a Rapidly Growing Market

As India continues its push towards sustainable mobility, the electric two-wheeler segment is witnessing exponential growth. Kinetic Green’s DX scooter, launched with a focus on affordability, practicality, and urban commuting, has already begun to carve a niche among eco-conscious consumers.

“We are seeing strong demand from both urban and semi-urban markets,” said Firodia. “Our goal of 40,000 DX scooter sales over the next year is aggressive but achievable, given the response we’ve received and the ramp-up in our distribution network.”

What Makes the DX Electric Scooter Stand Out

According to Firodia, the DX electric scooter combines practical design with high efficiency. Key features include:

  • 100 km range on a single charge
  • Top speed of 60 km/h
  • Swappable battery technology
  • Affordable pricing under ₹80,000 (ex-showroom)

It’s targeted at students, delivery professionals, and daily commuters looking for a reliable, zero-emission ride. The scooter also supports IoT-based tracking, enhancing convenience and safety for fleet operators and individuals alike.

Dealer Network and Expansion Plans

To support its ambitious sales target, Kinetic is rapidly expanding its retail footprint. The company plans to grow its dealer network from 300 to over 500 outlets across Tier 1, 2, and 3 cities by mid-2026.

“We believe distribution is the backbone of EV adoption,” Firodia noted. “We’re also working with NBFCs and fintech players to make EV ownership more accessible through easy financing and leasing options.”

Pushing for Localization and Sustainability

In line with the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, over 80% of the DX scooter’s components are locally sourced. Kinetic Green is also investing in R&D and has plans to set up a dedicated EV innovation center in Pune to work on next-gen battery technologies and AI-driven mobility solutions.

What Lies Ahead for Kinetic Green

The company’s growth isn’t limited to two-wheelers. Firodia hinted at upcoming launches in the three-wheeler and cargo EV segments. “We’re building a full ecosystem of clean mobility products,” he said.

With strong demand, expanding infrastructure, and policy tailwinds, Kinetic Green is well-positioned to become a major player in India’s EV revolution.
